1) Stage 1 – Gathering information
The initial stage will involve deciding the overall goals/aims
of your web site, if this has not already been decided upon.
We will also need any relevant background information about
your business or organisation, and all the content to be
used on your pages. Customers must provide all the content
required for the web site before we can commence work on
creating the site. This includes logo, all images in paper
or digital format, and textual content in digital format.
If the complete content has not been supplied within 90 days
of go-ahead the contract may be terminated and the deposit
forfeit.
2) Stage 2 – Design
Bespoke Web site
We will create up to 3 provisional designs for you to view & evaluate.
These will not be fully functional web sites, but will give
you a good impression of the design and the intended functionality.
The general design & colour will reflect your organisation’s
logo & image. We will make any required changes to your
taste until the design is accepted and approved.
Template Web site
For these web sites customers must select their design from
our selection of templates.
The chosen design will be tweaked to house your organisation’s
colours and logo. Only very small alterations to the design
will be possible for these web sites.
Once we have received written (or emailed) approval of the
design and colours we will proceed to production.
3) Stage 3 – Production
The approved design will be implemented as a 1 or 2 page
working web site that you will be able to access from the
Internet, allowing you to check and review the site. Only
small visual changes or textual corrections will be allowed
from this point. Colour changes will incur an additional
cost. We will now implement the bulk of the site. Once the
content has been confirmed OK, and any technical queries
have been resolved, the web site is made ‘live’.
4) Submitting your web site to search engines
Once we have received final payment from yourselves we will
submit your site to the main free search engines, including
Google, AltaVista, HotBot, MSN, and AOL. You will need to
allow up to 3 months for your web site to be listed by the
search engines.
Please note: Search engines do
not guarantee that they will list your site and will give
no explanation for this. Therefore, IT Partnership cannot
be held responsible for any web sites that fail to be indexed.
5) Customers who wish to update their web site themselves
Some customers may decide to update their own web site. We
are happy to provide training to get you up and running,
this will be charged at our current hourly rate, unless agreed
previously. Once the site has been updated by the customer
IT Partnership cannot be held responsible for any mistakes
or problems with the site, and any alterations or corrections
will need to be charged.
6) Initial Free Update
Once your web site has been launched, IT Partnership are
happy to spend up to one hour making any minor content
alterations requested in the first month. Any work carried
out to the site after this period or in excess of 1 hour
will be charged at our current hourly rate.
Please note: This free update
offer is not available to customers who have elected to update
the web site themselves.
7) Site Maintenance Contracts
For smaller sites we offer an annual maintenance contract
where we spend up to 5 hours updating and renewing the
site, to be called off as required during the year, at
a cost of £175 per annum. For larger sites, or sites
requiring more frequent updates we will tailor our maintenance
contract to your requirements.
8) Email
In addition to your web site, IT Partnership will also host
email for your domain (unless agreed otherwise). This email
can be setup in practically any way required, with either
email working for all addresses @ your domain, or any number
of specific ones. Our standard contract allows for up to
4 specific addresses, with extra addresses charged a small
amount per annum. Please see our hosting charges page on
our web site for the current charges. You can either pick
up email directly from our server (see www.itpartnership.com\support.htm)
or we can forward it to existing email addresses.
9) Web Statistics
After your site has gone live we will send you instructions
on how to log into our WebStats facility. This will allow
you to see the number of hits your web site is receiving,
what pages are being visited, what search phrases people
are entering into search engines to find you, and a host
of other interesting statistics.
10) Hosting Charges
Our initial charge for creating your web site includes the
first year’s web site and email hosting charge. For
subsequent years we charge a very reasonable fee for continuing
to host your web site and your email. The cost will depend
upon the size of the web site, the email facilities, and
any special programmed facilities we have implemented. These
charges cover paying all name registration charges on your
behalf to the domain registrars, full telephone and email
support to answer any queries regarding your web site or
email during the year, backing up any data stored on your
web site, maintenance of our servers, and of course the high
speed special internet connection required to enable your
web site to be accessed 24x7 from all over the world.
